Orange Is The New Green! MELISSA HORNUNG

When we think of a green drink what comes to mind is a beverage infused with spinach, kale, celery, cucumber and green apple amongst a list of other possibilities, right? And while those plant dirivitives make for the perfect base of any fresh green juice, hence their color 😜 as well their high levels of live enzymes, vitamins and minerals. However, incorporating some “super orange” ingredients like carrots, fresh turmeric root, whole tangerine, yes including the rind (the healthiest part), then what you will have is yourself a bonified Super Orange Drink that very much lives up to the expectation of “green”.

Turmeric root has been used for digestion for centuries for it’s  anti-inflammatory properties. Furthermore, it is high in anti oxidant and contains curcuminoids and volatile oils which are both cancer fighting agents and used as an aide to slow and shrink tumors . In fact their are claims that plants like tumerick root and a diet high in organic criciferous and leafy greens, high concentrations of live nutrients,  regular cleansing, excerside and stress management is believed to have cured some cancers all together.

We all know that carrots are a power house vitamin packed vegetable containing high amounts of vitamins A, C, D,  E and that little know vitamin, K as well. They also  contain some much needed minerals like,  calcium, magnesium and potassium. And aside from your mother’s claims that eating a lot of them helps you to see better in the dark, this little root Veggie just makes a really good choice in your daily green all the way around.

And don’t underestimate the power of a tiny tangerine! This little darling pocesses a third of your daily vitamin C, is chock full of anti oxidants and with regular consumption, brightens skin and staves off the sign of aging!

So! If the health and beauty benefits don’t grab you to put a little orange in your green, than do it for the pure refreshing essence of this life giving brew!  Don’t forget to garnish with a stem of celery! Bottoms up! To your health!
